I haven't posted here since sometime in 2012. I'm not entirely off social media, though. I have a facebook account, twitter, tumblr; I'm just really bad about posting things to any of them. I think some of that might be because I have so many things. I've also tried to blog at other places, but I think I'll just stick to the less formal livejournal.

What can I say about what has happened in the past two years? I've graduated university with a BA in Celtic languages and culture. I attempted to get in to a MA program for translation, but that didn't pan out, unfortunately. However, now I'm a freelance translator and subtitler. I took a small course in subtitling, which is why that is part of what I can freelance. I'm hoping to get a steady job at a translation or subtitling agency, but that's a bit hard to come by. On May 7th I celebrated (quietly with Mark) my 5th year as a Dutch citizen. I suppose that means I should be writing this in Dutch, but most likely who ever would be reading this can only/can read English. I hope to do a bigger celebration in September when I celebrate 10 years living in the Netherlands.

This weekend I'm heading off to Dublin with some of the girls from Medusa. I should mention that I haven't been a member of Medusa for a while now. I did a year after I finished University, and then I had to bow out. It will be very nice to catch up with some of them (there are also going to be other ex-members taking part). Which means, of course, that I will be starting this up only to take a 3 day break, of course. I'll be back on Sunday, and have a nice cuddle with Mark before he heads off to Belgium on Monday for a few days. It was just poorly planned scheduling, I suppose. Anyway, I'll try to take some pictures and maybe update this once again?

I suppose a bit of a sum up?
  • [ profile] beowulff and I are still together. We celebrated 10 years together last December.
  • We still live in Gouda.
  • We currently have no rats, unfortunately.

The weather has become nice once again. The sky currently is a bright blue with almost stereotypical fluffy white clouds floating along. The weather forecast is actually suggesting thunderstorms this evening, which means that I should head out now to get groceries, but as per usual, I don't want to.

I'm hoping to update every day that I am physically able to. Which means I probably won't be updating this weekend, but that until Friday I'll post something, and I'll start up again on Monday. I make no promises, as I know my track record too well, and I wouldn't want to disappoint. I'll probably do some cross-posting of things at that I've blogged at other places, when I've strayed.
